Cantopop star Joey Yung has added a Jan. 18 concert at Hong Kong’s Kai Tak Main Stadium as the official opening night of her “AURA TOUR” run, after strong demand prompted her to push for an extra date before tickets went on sale.
Yung announced the additional show during a live broadcast on Oct. 13. Originally scheduled for Jan. 22 and Jan. 23, the run will now begin Jan. 18. The singer said she had asked her team to add the date, describing it as an “early” show for fans who have waited. She also stressed the importance of an opening-night audience, saying she wanted to exchange energy with her most devoted fans and start the run beautifully.
The new date means the previously announced Jan. 22 performance will now be the second show rather than the opener. Yung also said the stage will be a three-sided setup and left the door open for even more dates, suggesting the Jan. 23 show may not be the final performance.
