The former TVB star revealed the surprise proposal on her birthday, calling her fiancé a “guardian angel” sent by God after her father’s passing.
Hong Kong singer and actress Kayee Tam, 38, announced her engagement Tuesday in a heartfelt social media post from Lake Como, Italy, marking a new chapter in her life just over a year after leaving TVB to pursue an independent music career.
Tam, who rose to fame after winning third place in the singing competition “The Voice of the Superstars 3” in 2011, shared multiple photos of the romantic Lakeside proposal. In the images, she wears a white sleeveless dress adorned with red floral patterns and sports a striking blonde hairstyle. Her fiancé, dressed in a white shirt and shorts, is seen kneeling on one knee against the backdrop of the picturesque Italian lake and quaint European village scenery, holding up a diamond ring.
One photograph captures Tam covering her face in emotional surprise as she extends her hand to receive the ring. “Yesssss I do! We are engaged!” Tam wrote excitedly in her post. “Announcing the best gift of my life on my birthday. Thank God for letting you meet me. I feel so lucky.”
She added a deeply personal reflection: “Since the most important man in my life—my father—left, I feel that God sent you to be my guardian angel. Thank you for your infinite tolerance. It’s not about how much a person has, but how much a person is willing to give for you. You made me understand this truth—always giving 100% for me, letting me feel what selfless love is. Tam participated in TVB’s singing competition in 2011 and spent 14 years with the network before leaving in March last year to become an independent artist. In a radio interview this past April, she had expressed a desire to find a husband to take care of her.
