HOY TV’s new sitcom “Your Security Guard Li Bao’an” held its launch ceremony today (29), bringing together a diverse cast that includes former TVB actress Jiang Jiamin and Japanese adult film star Hamazaki Mao.
A New Chapter for Jiang Jiamin
Jiang Jiamin, who left TVB nearly two years ago, is making her return to television with HOY TV. During an audition for the sitcom, she confessed to feeling intense nerves. “I was so anxious that day,” Jiang said. “I had to introduce myself in front of the director and producers and then perform a scene. It turned out they had watched my previous drama ‘Golden Forest,’ and coincidentally, this sitcom also involves inheritance disputes just like that one.”
Jiang’s role in the sitcom places her character as the object of affection for multiple suitors. Surrounded by a cast of handsome co-stars, she admitted feeling pressure rather than excitement. “In real life, I’ve never had so many good-looking men around me at once,” she said. “It’s quite stressful.” Although she shares the same agency as co-star Li Shangzheng, the two have mostly worked on variety shows separately. “This is our first time acting together, but unfortunately we don’t have many scenes opposite each other in the drama,” Jiang added.
Hamazaki Mao Embraces Hong Kong Drama
Japanese AV actress Hamazaki Mao, best known for her work in adult entertainment, is stepping into Hong Kong television for the first time. She described the experience as markedly different from Japanese productions. Her character is an AV actress, a role she called “playing herself,” though she declined to confirm whether the part requires revealing outfits.
The biggest challenge, Hamazaki noted, has been the language barrier. “All my dialogue is in Cantonese, which is a huge challenge for me,” she said. “I feel a bit of pressure.” To prepare, she has been taking acting lessons with local instructor Yang Shimin, widely known as “Ha Tou.” Earlier this month, Hamazaki obtained her Hong Kong permanent resident ID card and celebrated by dining with 50 fans.
The sitcom also stars Li Shangzheng, Lu Song’en, Mai Peidong, Wang Yaohong, Wei Junsheng, and Ahyo. Filming is expected to continue over the coming weeks, with a broadcast date yet to be announced.

The casting choices reflect HOY TV’s strategy of attracting talent from diverse backgrounds, including former TVB actors and international stars. Jiang Jiamin’s return after a two-year hiatus and Hamazaki Mao’s debut signal a push for fresh narratives and cross-cultural appeal.
