HONG KONG – Six core cast members of the long-running TVB sitcom Come Home Love: Lo and Behold reunited on the variety program One Week Stars on Tuesday evening, sharing candid stories from the set, including a cross-dressing episode that nearly backfired and an on-set accident that left two actors injured.
The guests—Lau Dan, Pal Sinn, Joyce Tang, Koni Lui, Kalok Chow, and C.K. Cheung—represent the fictional “Bear Family” that anchors the hit series. In a segment that showcased the cast’s chemistry, they recited the family’s motto in unison: “Bear family spirit: presentable, venerable, never embarrassing.” The moment underscored the bond that has developed over years of filming.
From ‘Public Trial’ to Cross-Dressing Woes
Reflecting on the first day of shooting, Joyce Tang praised her on-screen son, Kalok Chow, for his raw talent. “He just needs that spark to click,” she said. But Pal Sinn revealed a less flattering memory: Chow once became the target of a group scolding that even the usually gentle Lau Dan joined. “It was a public trial,” Sinn joked.
The program revisited classic segments, including a cross-dressing storyline in which Chow’s character, “An”，dresses as a woman. Sinn disclosed that he borrowed his wife’s lingerie to help with the costume. Chow admitted he initially saw the role as pure comedy but grew concerned as the script expanded. “At first it was just fun, no problem. But then they wrote more and more, and I worried the audience would take it seriously,” he said.
Wedding Scene Sparks Real-Life Confusion
The cast unanimously cited the wedding of characters “Gong” and “Water” as the most emotional scene. Koni Lui recalled that friends and family bombarded her with questions about whether she was actually getting married. Sinn went further: “I was so into it that I secretly handed out red envelopes to the assistant director as a wedding gift.”
Q&A Reveals On-Set Injuries and a Famous Beard
In a viewer-question segment, co-stars including Shirley Yeung, C.K. Yuen, and Juno Ko submitted video questions. Joyce Tang recounted an accident with Yuen during their early collaboration. “He threw me onto the street—I hurt my back, and he injured his knee,” she said.
Veteran actor Sung Yue asked about Lau Dan’s signature beard, which prompted the show to reveal rare old photos of a young, muscular Lau Dan riding a motorcycle. The beard, it turns out, hides a personal story that Lau declined to elaborate on.
