Hong Kong singer and actor Anson Lo celebrated his 31st birthday this month with a wave of philanthropy, as his official fan club ALFC organized a charitable campaign themed “Amour ♡ Love.” The initiative raised a total of 770,000 Hong Kong dollars (approximately $98,500 USD) through a series of fan-driven fundraising activities.
According to the fan club’s announcement on July 30, the proceeds were generated from a pop-up store selling merchandise (with costs deducted), balloon-and-banner charity sets (sold at full price), and rounding up contributions. All funds will be donated in Anson Lo’s name to six charitable organizations.
Five of the recipients—Big Tree Animal Sanctuary and Adoption Center, Ah Gun House, Paws Guardian Rescue Shelter, Hong Kong Children’s Charity Foundation, and Hong Kong Anti-Cancer Society—will each receive $138,000 HKD. An additional $80,000 HKD will go to Make-A-Wish Hong Kong, supporting the charity’s first official raffle ticket campaign, which Anson Lo had previously urged his fans to back. The donation aims to help grant wishes for children battling critical illnesses, as well as provide timely aid to vulnerable people and stray animals.
In a social media post, the fan club expressed heartfelt gratitude to supporters, writing that their participation helped “love and kindness continue to shine.” Anson Lo himself reposted the announcement on his Instagram, adding a personal note of thanks: “I feel everyone’s goodwill.”
The campaign highlights a growing trend among Hong Kong celebrity fan communities, who increasingly channel their enthusiasm into organized charitable actions. Anson Lo, a member of the popular Cantopop group MIRROR, has long encouraged his followers to support social causes. This latest effort reinforces his public image as an artist who leverages his platform for community benefit.
As the donations are distributed, the six charities will allocate the funds toward animal welfare, children’s medical care, and cancer support services.
