The first round of closed-door auditions was held on July 15, drawing a diverse pool of contestants from Hong Kong, Macau, and mainland China. Applicants specialize in a wide array of esoteric disciplines, including Tarot reading, remote viewing, Zi Wei Dou Shu (Purple Star Astrology), Plum Blossom Yi Numerology, Eight Characters and Five Elements, Western astrology, Taoist magic, and Qi Men Dun Jia divination. Among the competitors were a spiritual medium, a celebrity feng shui master, a specialist from a known “spirit-consulting family,” and a man claiming to be the 33rd-generation descendant of Lü Yijian, a prime minister during China’s Northern Song dynasty.
In one of the three featured tests, the self-proclaimed descendant amazed the panel by correctly identifying the numbers on three dice that a crew member had just shaken—relying solely on intuition. The room erupted in gasps and cheers, with host Chen Yide shouting in disbelief, “Wow! That’s incredible! That’s insane!” Her excitement was echoed by other staff members who repeatedly called the performance “truly something else.”
‘Remote Viewer’ Identifies Deceased Relative
Another female contestant, specializing in “high sensitivity” or “clairvoyance,” claimed to be able to “see” personal details about people in the room. When a behind-the-scenes staff member asked her, “Which of my relatives recently passed away?” the contestant correctly identified the deceased family member’s relationship to the questioner.
