Taipei – Taiwanese-American pop star Wang Leehom has made his first public appearance since suffering a severe fall during a concert in Chengdu earlier this month, emerging with no visible scarring despite needing 39 stitches to close wounds on his face and left ear.
The singer attended a gathering dubbed the “Fu Mao Class Reunion” in Taiwan, hosted by his former manager Yuqing Yu and singer Fan Xiaoxuan. Fellow musician William So traveled from Hong Kong to join the event, which celebrated the enduring bonds forged under the historic Fu Mao record label.
Wang’s fall occurred during his ongoing concert tour in Chengdu at the beginning of November. The artist lost his footing backstage, resulting in two deep lacerations. Medical staff on site performed emergency sutures: 21 stitches for the facial wound and 18 for the injury near his ear. The incident forced a brief pause in his touring schedule, though the full extent of the recovery period was not disclosed.

At the reunion, photos shared by attendees showed Wang in good spirits and remarkably well-healed. Friends noted that the stitches had left no prominent scars, and the star appeared relaxed and energetic. The most poignant moment of the evening, however, came when Wang arrived wearing a commemorative T-shirt from his very first concert, held in 1996 under the Fu Mao label.
The worn garment instantly brought the room to a standstill. Wang proceeded to recount the names and contributions of the backstage crew from that inaugural show, demonstrating a vivid memory for the details that shaped his early career. “He remembered everything — the lighting tech, the stagehands, the person who handed him water,” one attendee told local media. “It was incredibly touching.”
