HONG KONG – A new supernatural action series from Television Broadcasts Limited (TVB) held its blessing ceremony on Wednesday, August 14, with a cast that promises a mix of high-octane stunts, emotional breakdowns, and deliberate shirtless scenes. The drama, tentatively titled Exorcism Express (translated from 《驅魔速遞》), brings together a young ensemble led by Kalok Chow, Hera Chan, and Ricco Ng.
The series centers on a team of paranormal couriers tasked with delivering exorcism services. Hera Chan stars as one of these exorcism delivery agents, appearing at the ceremony in a short skirt that highlighted her long legs. Co-star Joey Thye sported pink hair, shorts, and fishnet stockings to underscore her character’s rebellious nature.
Not to be outdone, Kalok Chow and Ricco Ng playfully warned that each episode will feature them removing their shirts to display their physiques. “It’s not that I deliberately trained just for the drama,” Chow clarified, though he acknowledged adding muscle for the role. Ng described the physically grueling schedule, noting he has already endured five consecutive days of fight scenes. “It’s really exhausting,” he admitted.
Thye, visibly fatigued from shooting, described herself as feeling like a “frozen computer.” The newcomer said the series marks her first major action role and that she initially struggled with kick sequences. “I couldn’t do the kicking moves. It was very tiring and painful,” she said. “I’m grateful to the team for cheering me on.”
Chow and Chan added that the cast approaches the supernatural subject matter with respect, but noted that no one carries protective talismans on set. So far, no paranormal incidents have been reported.
Tyson Ting and Kayee Nga reunite after their previous collaboration on Hong Kong Exploration Map. In Exorcism Express, they play a couple whose relationship is shattered by tragedy. Ting warned that his character cries for the first 10 episodes. “Once I start crying, it’s really hard to control the tears and mucus,” he said, describing a recent scene with Chow and Ng where he could not stop weeping. Despite the emotional toll, he found the action scenes manageable with help from the stunt coordinator.
In contrast, Nga plays a comatose patient who remains bedridden for several episodes with no action sequences. She described her role as a tragic victim, but said the sibling bond she shares with Ricco Ng’s character is deeply moving.
The launch event comes amid other headlines surrounding the cast. Kalok Chow recently defended co-stars Joyce Tang and Mandy Lam against rumors of a feud, while veteran actress Amy Fan urged audiences to give the new series a chance.
Exorcism Express is expected to air on TVB later this year. As production continues, the cast remains committed to delivering a blend of supernatural thrills, family drama, and physical spectacle.
