KUALA LUMPUR – Hong Kong television actors Yang Ming and Zhuang Siming exchanged vows today in a wedding ceremony held in Malaysia’s capital, capping a relationship that has drawn widespread attention from Chinese-language entertainment fans. The couple completed the traditional tea ceremony, an emotional milestone that left them visibly relieved and eager to share details about their married life, family plans and postponed honeymoon.
Emotional Tea Ceremony
Speaking to reporters after the morning ritual, Yang said the weight of the day lifted considerably once the tea ceremony was finished, allowing him to fully embrace the joy of the upcoming wedding rites. His bride, Zhuang Siming, described the event as deeply moving, admitting she was brought to tears.
“Seeing all the elders gathered together, it felt like we had finally fulfilled a long-awaited wish for them,” Zhuang said. “Watching the older generation smile so happily touched me deeply.”
Family Planning: A Son First, Then a Daughter
When asked about plans for children, Yang said the couple would let nature take its course, deferring to “what heaven arranges.” However, he expressed a desire to build a lively household. In past interviews, Yang had mentioned wanting multiple children. He clarified that his preference would be to have a son first, followed by a daughter, so an older brother could protect his younger sister from an early age.
Zhuang praised her husband’s thoughtfulness, noting that while Yang deeply wishes for a daughter, he believes a girl needs a protective older sibling. “He is very careful in his thinking,” she added.
Honeymoon on Hold
The newlyweds revealed they have no concrete honeymoon plans yet. Yang explained that both remain committed to acting projects following the Kuala Lumpur wedding, so they will focus on work first and organize a celebration upon returning to Hong Kong.
Zhuang elaborated: “Many friends and behind-the-scenes colleagues who have worked with us for over a decade couldn’t make it to Kuala Lumpur. We want to host a large party in Hong Kong so everyone can celebrate with us. The honeymoon can happen anytime after that.”
Yang joked that his wife is easy to please—she would be perfectly content with a trip to South Korea simply to enjoy the local cuisine.
Sister’s Practical Gift and Bouquet Predictions
Zhuang Siming’s sister, actress Zhuang Simin, described the atmosphere as warm and joyful. For a wedding gift, she chose cash, calling it the most practical option given the high costs of wedding planning. “Cash allows the couple to buy what they truly want—more useful than jewelry,” she said.
Asked whether she hopes the couple will have children soon, Zhuang Simin said she does not want to pressure them. “The most important thing is that they are forever happy,” she said. When asked about her own romantic prospects, she humorously deflected: “That might be more difficult for me. Please don’t put pressure on me.”
