Honey Punch to Deliver Live Debut of Serrini-Penned Single “Turbulence”

Hong Kong girl group Honey Punch will give the first live performance of their new single “Turbulence” on Oct. 19, a track featuring lyrics by acclaimed singer-songwriter Serrini and recorded during an unconventional Mid-Autumn Festival studio session designed to strengthen the bond between the group and its production team.

The label deliberately scheduled the recording over the holiday so the members and their producers could spend time together away from the usual studio pressure. As part of the festive exchange, members Colour and Chelsa prepared traditional mooncakes for the three visiting producers and their crew—most of whom had never tasted the iconic pastry. The guests were reportedly amused by both the look and flavor of the mooncakes, and the lighthearted moment helped set a warm tone for the sessions.

The producers’ first impression of member Jacey was that she carried a distinct, cool presence. Once she began recording, they quickly confirmed she had earned her place as the group’s designated “style icon,” noting that her attitude and vocal delivery matched her striking image.

Other members also walked away with meaningful encouragement. Vocalist Keira said the experience itself was a highlight, especially after receiving high praise from producer Daexon.

“Having this recording experience already makes me so happy,” Keira said. “Producer Daexon praised my voice as well-suited for radio and predicted I would really stand out in a few years. I will work even harder and won’t let him down.”

Leader Casey shared a similar sense of accomplishment, revealing a standout moment during her takes.

“Daexon praised me for nailing an extremely difficult phrase in one take,” Casey said. “He said it was an exceptionally impressive performance for a rookie girl group. I felt really happy.”

“Turbulence” marks another step forward for Honey Punch as they carve out their identity in Hong Kong’s competitive pop landscape. With a high-profile lyricist attached and a recording process designed to build chemistry, the single signals the group’s ambition to mature quickly. Their Oct. 19 stage debut will be the first real test of how that studio chemistry translates live—and whether the group can turn industry buzz into lasting momentum.
