Nearly 1,000 Fans Flock to Macau for TVB Drama ‘Splendid City’ Finale

TVB’s anniversary drama “Splendid City” concluded its run tonight (Dec. 6) with an elaborate fan celebration in Macau. Nearly 1,000 attendees joined the cast and production team for a day that included a bus tour through locations featured in the series and a television finale viewing party.

Afternoon Bus Tour Takes Over Macau Streets

In the afternoon, the show’s stars boarded an open-top, branded bus for a route winding through Macau’s historic streets. The bus, decorated with the series logo, paraded past key landmarks that served as backdrops for the drama, including the Inner Harbour Pier, Golden Pavilion Street, New Road, Senate Square, Lakeside Garden, Macau Tower, and the Taipa Arch. Fans lined the streets, often hours in advance, hoping to catch a glimpse of their favorite actors. The stars obliged, waving and tossing commemorative “Splendid City” calendars into the crowd, creating a carnival-like atmosphere that gave fans a rare up-close experience.

Among the actors on stage were Jiang Meiyi, Cai Yizhi, Chen Ying, Chen Wei, Jiang Zuman, Jiang Jiamin, Zhou Zhikang, Chen Xiaohua, Zheng Zicheng, Huang Ziheng, Kong Dexian, Ni Jiawen, and many others, showing the depth of the ensemble. The gathering also included veteran performers and rising stars, all marking the conclusion of a project that engaged audiences over its broadcast period.

TVB executives showed strong support. Zeng Lizhen, assistant general manager of drama production; Wen Weihong, assistant director of drama production; and Chen Weiguan, the drama’s producer and senior manager of drama production, attended alongside writers Zhang Shichang and Li Qinyi. Their presence underlined the importance of “Splendid City” to the network’s anniversary programming.
