Nancy Sit and Grandson Julian, 5, Light Up Charity Runway Show

Veteran Hong Kong actress Nancy Sit recently proved that star power runs in the family, sharing the runway with her five-year-old grandson, Julian, at a charity children’s fashion show. The pair’s confident posing and natural chemistry earned a standing ovation from the delighted audience, marking a heartwarming milestone for the young boy.

A Family Affair on the Runway

The event drew several celebrity families, including actor William Wu, magician Zhong Zhenquan, and actress Man Hei-yee, who proudly posed with her young grandchildren and revealed she now has five grandchildren. Sit’s son and his wife were also in the crowd, cheering on the grandmother-grandson duo.

Julian took the experience in stride. “I wasn’t scared because my grandma was there,” he told reporters after the show. “She is amazing.” For Sit, the moment was pure joy. “He has definitely inherited my genes,” she shared. “He plays the piano and the drums, speaks several languages, and can already sing my hit song Everyone’s Joy and do the classic step dance. He once accompanied me on the piano. I would love to bring him on stage with me in the future.”

Sit also reflected on her own career legacy, mentioning the recent TVB rerun of her beloved 2000 drama In the Mood for Love and a happy reunion with her co-star Louis Cheung. “He still looks the same handsome guy,” she said with a laugh.

Between Projects and Family Time

The actress recently made headlines by sharing her natural hair on social media, debuting a bold afro style after years of wearing wigs for various roles. “I wore wigs for so long to match different outfits. I was pleasantly surprised by the new look, but the sweetest part was my grandson telling me I looked pretty. That was everything,” she said.

Upcoming Projects:

Even at 70, Sit’s schedule remains packed with new ventures:

  • Wrapping filming for the English-language film Beauty Pageant Brothers, produced by her daughter.
  • A trip to the Busan International Film Festival with the film’s team in the coming days.
  • Traveling to Malaysia to record a Lunar New Year song and shoot a web drama.
  • Starring in the 60-episode web series My Mother-in-Law Arrives, an investment by her son, alongside veteran actors Esther Man Beat, Anderson Chong, and Joe Fang.

Sit expressed openness to turning the project into a true family affair. “If it doesn’t interfere with his schooling, I would love for him to try acting,” she said, hinting at a possible screen debut for Julian.

Continuing a Legacy

The charity fashion show was more than just a glossy photo opportunity. It was a reflection of Sit’s graceful ability to bridge generations, blending a lifelong love of performance with the simple joy of family. As she prepares for an international film festival tour and a new web series, it is clear that the Sit family’s spotlight is shining brighter than ever — with its youngest member already showing he is ready to share the stage.
