HONG KONG — A dramatic reunion unfolded on the second episode of TVB dating show “女神配對計劃2” (Goddess Matchmaking Plan 2) aired Thursday night, when a mystery suitor revealed himself to be the ex-boyfriend of contestant Juliana Kwok, turning a standard dating segment into an emotional plea for reconciliation.
The suitor, identified as Ice Yu, a self-described investor and singer from the United States, traveled thousands of miles to Hong Kong specifically to reignite his romance with Kwok. The pair dated for nearly four years before splitting due to the challenges of a long-distance relationship. Ice said he spent nine months contemplating the breakup before deciding to take the bold step of appearing on the show.
“I’ve been single for nine to ten months. I came here for one person,” Ice said in Mandarin before his identity was revealed. “After we broke up, I have been thinking about you every day. I always wanted to continue our unfinished story.”
In a heartfelt confession, Ice described the breakup as “probably the biggest heartbreak I ever had,” adding that he missed his former girlfriend “every day, every night, and with a little bit of tear.”
