Hong Kong singer Jinny Ng concluded the Mainland China leg of her “Gossip of Me” tour in Foshan, Guangdong Province, with a sold-out, emotionally charged performance that celebrated her 15-year career milestone and fostered deep connection with her fans. The concert, held recently, saw Ng reflect on her journey through the entertainment industry’s scrutiny while delivering a setlist of her most iconic hits, climaxing in a resonant display of appreciation for her enduring fan base.
Ng, also known as Jinny, opened the evening with powerful renditions of “Smoke” (炊煙) and “Submerged Current” (暗湧). Early in the show, the 33-year-old artist reflected on the significance of the aptly named “Gossip of Me” theme. “This year marks my 15th anniversary in the industry,” Ng told the capacity crowd. “I’ve realized that regardless of the trials or the gossip through the years, as long as I focus on being my authentic self, I will always be the best version of Jinny Ng.” The sentiment resonated clearly with attendees, highlighting the star’s maturity gained through personal and professional challenges.
The concert, characterized by high energy and palpable emotion, featured a dynamic guest appearance by rising star Aster Lau (劉芷君). Lau joined the stage to perform the classic Mandopop track “Bad Boy,” showcasing versatility in contrast to Ng’s Cantopop repertoire. Lau expressed her gratitude to the audience and Ng, stating, “It’s an honor and a wonderful learning opportunity to be Jinny’s guest here in Foshan. I hope to have many more opportunities to connect with everyone.”
Midway through the spectacle, following a costume change, Ng delivered several fan favorites, including “Summoning Silk” (召喚絲), “Can Carry More” (可以背負更多), and “The Secret of Tears” (眼淚的秘密). Demonstrating appreciation for her local following, Ng left the stage to greet and shake hands with audience members, creating an intimate moment amid the large-scale production.
Towards the end of the main set, Ng took a moment to address her devoted fans directly. “I want to sincerely thank my fans,” she said, visibly moved. “You are the reason I receive so much love. Over these 15 years, a group of people have stayed by my side through everything. I cherish every person who has entered my life.” She dedicated the song “Grateful to Meet You” (感激跟你能夠遇見) to their loyalty.
The evening reached its emotional peak when Ng became tearful while reflecting on her journey, concluding the Foshan stop with her massive hit “Love is Harder and Harder” (越難越愛).
Following the successful performance, Ng shared the deep affinity she feels for the southern Chinese city. She revealed that Foshan holds professional and personal significance as the location where her recent drama, The Tower After the Giant, was launched and filmed.
“Finishing the Gossip of Me Foshan show felt particularly meaningful,” Ng stated post-concert. “This is a place I know very well; the memories of spending three months here filming just flooded back. It truly felt like a second home—comfortable and familiar.” Ng praised the audience’s enthusiasm, the shared language, and the overall environment, going so far as to suggest a potential relocation. “The audience response was exceptional, and I truly love it here. If given the chance, I would genuinely consider settling down in Foshan,” she remarked, solidifying the profound connection forged during this standout performance.
