Global K-Pop phenomenon TOMORROW X TOGETHER (TXT) captivated Hong Kong audiences this week, launching the Asia leg of their “ACT : TOMORROW” World Tour with a historic three-night run at the AsiaWorld-Expo. The quintet—comprising Yeonjun, Soobin, Beomgyu, Taehyun, and Hueningkai—marked their highly anticipated debut concerts in the city since forming nearly six years ago, playing to an estimated 35,000 exhilarated fans across three sold-out shows and demonstrating a profound commitment to connecting with local culture.
The electric atmosphere began immediately on opening night as the five members made a theatrical entrance, surprisingly appearing from within the audience, instantly sending the venue into pandemonium. The group’s genuine effort to engage with the city was evident throughout the nearly three-hour performance, which featured over 30 tracks, intricate choreography, and heartfelt local tributes.
Cultural Exchange Highlights Deep Fan Connection
Beyond their hits like “Deja Vu,” “Eternally,” and “CROWN,” TXT made significant strides in bridging the language gap. The members repeatedly utilized Cantonese phrases, fostering an intimate connection with the crowd, collectively known as MOA. Taehyun greeted fans by enthusiastically stating in Cantonese that the Hong Kong engagement was the first stop of 2026 and conveyed a familial feeling toward the city’s supporters.
During the concert, member Beomgyu delivered a massive surprise, performing a section of the Cantonese classic “She Came to Listen to My Concert” by Cantopop icon Jacky Cheung. The dedication thrilled the local audience, prompting an emotional repeat performance upon fan request. The members also mastered basic fan interactions, sprinkling phrases like “Have fun,” “Today is full of happiness,” and “I love you all” into their dialogue, amplifying the mood.
Yeonjun shared details of their recent arrival, noting the team enjoyed sampling local cuisine and taking in Hong Kong’s renowned night skyline. Building on this sentiment, Taehyun, following his solo performance of “Bird of Night,” humorously remarked that he sang it while thinking of the city’s lights, though quickly quipping that MOA were even more beautiful than the view. Beomgyu’s confidence shone through his brief, humorous address, wishing fans a traditional “Happy New Year” in Cantonese and promising to fully convert any newcomers into dedicated MOA.
Overcoming Challenges and Promising a Return
The dedication to the performance was deeply felt. During the show, Yeonjun was visibly moved when the entire audience sang along to his solo track, “Talk to You,” enthusiastically calling the crowd’s energy “insane” (a local slang compliment).
Reflecting on the tour stop, the members shared their delight and gratitude. Soobin candidly revealed that he had been dealing with a slight sore throat and nasal congestion before taking the stage, worrying it might affect his delivery. However, he noted that the moment he stepped into the spotlight, all symptoms vanished, testament to the transformative power of fan energy.
Taehyun expressed regret that the group hadn’t visited sooner, describing the experience as immensely fun. Yeonjun concurred, praising the city’s beauty and the exceptional passion of the local MOA. The night concluded with a powerful back-to-back encore, a testament to the audience’s sustained enthusiasm. The members unanimously promised to return, solidifying the Hong Kong concerts as a memorable new high point in their global trajectory.
