The highly anticipated “OURSTAGE” graduation concert concluded successfully last night (18th), drawing a capacity crowd of enthusiastic fans who enthusiastically supported their idols with light boards. Sixteen emerging artists—including Fung Hei-sip, Ko Yu-fei, Wu Zi-bei, Cheung Chun-ming, Tsui Wai-ching, Po Tsz-yan, Luk Cheuk-him, Sin Yik-yu, Wu Kong-fung, Szeto Yat, Chan Cheuk-yi, Lam Kit-sum, Yan Man-fong, Chau Chi-man, Siu Hoi-yan, and Wing Kiu—delivered a stunning performance alongside their mentors, an esteemed lineup featuring Patrick Tam, William So, Deep Ng, Hubert Wu, Vincy Chan, Sherman Chung, and Steven Ma. The mentors offered sincere words of encouragement, urging the graduates to continue striving for musical excellence.

The concert, a vibrant showcase of emerging talent, commenced with all sixteen performers taking the stage for a powerful medley of “Star Wars” and “Grand Arrival.” Highlights followed swiftly, with Wu Zi-bei and Luk Cheuk-him captivating the audience with a rock-infused acoustic rendition of “Endless.” Zi-bei further delighted fans by debuting his new single, “The Festival of Emotions Completed,” offering a sneak peek into his rapidly developing sound.

The evening featured dedicated segments for each mentor group, reflecting months of intensive training. Hubert Wu’s cohort took the spotlight, beginning with Wing Kiu (Ziva), followed by Chau Chi-man (Emily), who performed “The Hardest Path.” Wu then joined Emily and Ziva for a poignant collaboration on “Permanent Damage.” Wu, a successful artist himself, expressed his initial surprise at being offered a mentorship role, but embraced the opportunity to share his competition insights with the next generation. He extended gratitude to his students—Emily, Ziva, and Cheung Chun-ming—for trusting him, noting that their commitment reminded him of the crucial need to maintain one’s “beginner’s mind” throughout a long career.

Mentor Patrick Tam’s group impressed with their collective growth. Po Tsz-yan performed “The Shape of Wind” before being joined by Wu Kong-fung and Siu Hoi-yan (Michelle) for a triple-threat performance of “Flying Solo” and “Intoxicating Charm.” Tam then harmonized with his students on “Four Seasons,” commending their transformation from novices to confident stage performers. Tam, described by his students as a strict but effective teacher, emphasized the continued necessity for humility, active learning, analytical processing of feedback, and strong psychological fortitude for sustained success in music.

The energetic pace continued with Chan Cheuk-yi’s rendition of “Unknown,” accompanied by four dancers. Sherman Chung’s segment then focused on upbeat hits, with Chung, Sin Yik-yu, and Szeto Yat delivering a dynamic performance of “Tropical Love Island” and “Wild City,” culminating in a fast-paced Grasshopper medley that underscored their rigorous rehearsal schedule.

Deep Ng’s protégé, Luk Cheuk-him (Jeffery), then commanded the stage with “For Elise.” Ng spoke highly of Jeffery’s potential, revealing he had actively sought to mentor him, believing he has the talent to go far. Ng advised Jeffery to harness his existing mental strength to handle high expectations, noting that while early career pressure can be immense, Jeffery possesses the resilience to meet it.

Steven Ma’s student, Lam Kit-sum (Bibi), performed “A Small Story.” Ma praised her performance, gratefully acknowledging that teaching her had helped refresh his own knowledge, reminding him of areas for personal artistic growth. Bibi called the “OURSTAGE” experience life-changing.

Ko Yu-fei (Ophelia) showcased her debut single, “Intuitive Aesthetics,” before joining mentor Vincy Chan for their duet, “Thorn Sea.” Chan praised Ophelia’s immediate potential and confidence. The segment also featured Chan and Tsui Wai-ching singing “Sensation.”

William So’s group provided emotional depth. Yan Man-fong (Jenny) delivered powerful performances of “The Edge of Love and Pain” and “Mountain Forest Road,” then joined So for “Long Night Ahead,” with So recognizing her marked progress and newfound confidence. So later performed with Fung Hei-sip (Ryan), who impressed him with his dedication and numerous questions, which So realized were driven by a shared, deep passion for music. So, who shares a birthday with Ryan, guided him using the perspective of what he, as a young artist, would have wanted from a mentor. Ryan then performed his final offerings, including his first official single, “Listening to My Own Voice.”

The unforgettable night concluded with all sixteen graduates reuniting on stage for a stirring performance of “Ordinary Star,” officially marking the end of their intensive “OURSTAGE” journey and signaling the promising start of their professional music careers.
