Yuki Lands Permanent TVB Sitcom Role, Recalls Violent Water Game Incident

Hong Kong actress Yuki (Law Yu Yee) has become a permanent member of the cast of TVB’s sitcom Come Home Love: The Three Generations of Sugar, and has also shared her experience witnessing an intense water battle on the reality show Goddess Matching Plan 2. During interviews, she talked about the diverse looks of her character, the jealousy of her boyfriend, and the shocking encounter that went viral.

Sitcom Debut with Style

Yuki thanked TVB for the opportunity to take on a long-term role in the popular sitcom, which has been a staple of Hong Kong television for years. She revealed that her character Chocolate Chi will experiment with different wardrobe styles. “I hope to offer beautiful visuals to the viewers,” she said. The actress also lightheartedly mentioned her boyfriend Lam Chun Kei’s jealousy while they rehearsed the script together. “He saw how sweet the romantic scenes are and felt very sad. He wanted me to buy him model toys and handbags to make him feel better,” Yuki laughed. She even encouraged him to try out for a role, jokingly suggesting he could become a love rival.

Two other actresses, Ying Qiao and Zhen Minfang, also expressed their enthusiasm about the sitcom. They described the experience as a dream come true and noted that donning maid costumes was a fresh and groundbreaking challenge. Both are dedicated to giving their best performance and hope to stay as regular characters.

Intense Reality TV Moment

During the filming of Goddess Matching Plan 2, a programme that pits contestants in relationship-oriented challenges designed to strengthen connections, a water segment became unexpectedly violent. Chen Xingyu was filmed placing Chen Ruosi (Amber) in a headlock, hitting her face, and pushing her into the water pool. Yuki, who was participating in the show as a member of the “peanut group” of observers, was caught on camera looking completely startled.

“I was really shocked by the situation. I feared for Amber’s safety, wondering if she knew how to swim. I noticed red marks on her neck and immediately asked her if she wanted me to apply some ointment,” Yuki said.

When asked if Chen Xingyu was simply acting naturally, Yuki replied that she is not personally close to Chen Xingyu but has found the women on set to be very cordial. “Physical contact is often necessary in competitive games. Everyone is simply focused on having fun and being entertaining. If you don’t give it your all, the show wouldn’t be interesting. Even though I’m small, I can be very competitive in my own way,” she explained.

Public Discussion as Success Gauge

Addressing rumors of conflict on the show, Yuki opined that high levels of public discourse actually indicate strong viewer interest. “When people talk a lot about a show, it means many are watching,” she said.

Yuki’s new sitcom role signals an important advancement in her career, while her anecdotes about reality TV provide insight into the industry’s dynamics. With its blend of scripted humor and unscripted tension, the shows she is involved in continue to attract audiences.
