Charity Initiative Fulfills Disabled Fan’s Lifelong Dream to Meet Idol Jason Chan

HONG KONG — A 25-year-old woman with cerebral hypoxia, Huang Zhuosi, finally saw her cherished dream come true recently when she attended a concert by her idol, singer Jason Chan, and met him backstage. The emotional experience was orchestrated by television host Elva Ni through her charitable online series, the “Cherish Dream Series.”

Zhuosi’s medical challenges began at birth. Born prematurely in the breech position, she suffered moderate cerebral hypoxia, which affected her lower limb development and required spinal surgery. Despite these physical barriers, she works full-time as an activities assistant and aspires deeply to give back to her community.

Chan’s music was a pillar of strength during her most difficult moments. When Zhuosi met with Elva, she expressed a simple yet profound wish: not for material gifts, but to create shared memories with the two people she admires most.

This aligns entirely with the mission of Elva’s project. Over the past two years, the “Cherish Dream Series” has helped ill and special-needs children and young adults achieve personal milestones, including composing a debut song for a teen with a rare disease, orchestrating a princess experience for a girl with autism, and helping a speech-impaired and autistic girl work as a cashier.

Upon learning Zhuosi’s story, Jason Chan and his team at Sony Music immediately pledged their support. They provided VIP tickets to his 20th Anniversary concert at the Hong Kong Coliseum and arranged an exclusive backstage meeting. Elva, who was visiting family in Canada, cut her trip short and changed her ticket to personally accompany Zhuosi. Despite severe flight delays, she rushed directly from the airport to the venue without stopping home.

“When I got off the plane, I had only one thought: I had to make it,” Elva said. “I knew I wasn’t just rushing to a concert. I was rushing to a dream that had been waiting for years.”

The evening was a profound success. Zhuosi entered the Coliseum for the first time in her life as the songs that once existed only in her headphones roared through the stadium. The live performance gave her a tangible connection to the melodies that had long been a source of comfort. Meeting Chan backstage, she described the night as “unforgettable” and “incredible.”

For Elva, the greatest reward was Zhuosi’s pure joy. “Seeing her so happy made everything worthwhile,” she said, thanking the singer and his team for their support.

The Broader Impact

Zhuosi’s fulfilled dream underscores the profound power of community and compassion. For Elva, the series is about so much more than granting a single wish; it is an ongoing effort to bring hope, connection, and genuine joy to families navigating severe health and personal challenges. The initiative continues to prove that the most meaningful gifts are often intangible—shared moments of happiness and the assurance that someone truly cares.
