Hong Kong Stars Bring Glamour to Macau Hotel Opening, Share Tour Plans and Personal Milestones

MACAU – A constellation of Asian pop stars descended on Macau Thursday for the grand opening of a new luxury hotel, with Miriam Yeung, Anson Lo, Tyson Yoshi, Marf and Jing Boran offering glimpses into upcoming tours, album projects and private family plans.

Yeung eyes Hong Kong return, praises Eason Chan’s concert concept

Cantopop icon Miriam Yeung, currently midway through her concert tour, expressed delight at the hotel’s distinctive room features. During a preview of the property, she discovered a motorized bed that adjusts to different angles, allowing guests to admire shifting views outside the window. The singer joked that she now plans to book a stay with friends to play card games, noting the challenge of avoiding window reflections that reveal hand cards.

Yeung confirmed her tour will pause at year’s end and resume in April 2025. In the downtime, she is putting final touches on a new album — artwork and music videos are complete, and the physical discs are already in production. She voiced a clear ambition to perform again at Hong Kong Coliseum, calling the venue “closest to Cantonese music’s heart,” but acknowledged that scheduling requires an advance application.

When asked about Eason Chan’s upcoming “recording-style” concert series, Yeung praised the concept as unique and meaningful. “Eason and his audience have grown together for over 30 years,” she said, adding that recreating the atmosphere of a studio recording for each show honors that bond. Asked about reports that tickets have been scalped for HKD 10,000 each, she laughed: “I’d rather buy 10,000 of his CDs and enjoy his recording effort slowly.” If she could re-record one of her own albums, Yeung said she would choose her debut Wolf Is Coming, explaining that her younger self lacked the life experience to fully interpret the songs.

Anson Lo confesses snoring woes after trip with bandmate

Mirror member Anson Lo revealed that a recent getaway with fellow singer Jeremy Lee was not entirely restful — for Lee. “I’ve never measured my snoring in decibels, but it must be loud,” Lo admitted. He said Lee complained the noise kept him awake, and his parents have also told him his snoring is severe, though he hasn’t found a solution.

Tyson Yoshi on baby plans, new Harley and a wife who refuses to ride

Singer-songwriter Tyson Yoshi disclosed that he and his wife have started trying to conceive. The couple is considering a return trip to Macau to “add romance” and, he joked, improve their chances. On a more material note, Yoshi recently purchased a Harley-Davidson motorcycle. He has been riding with friends including DJ Sammy and actor Stephen Cheung, calling the experience “more stylish than showing off.” However, his wife has sworn she will never sit on the back. “I hope to persuade her someday — my driving skills are pretty decent,” he said with a grin.

Broader significance

The event underscores Macau’s continued appeal as a destination for high-profile hospitality launches, drawing artists from Hong Kong, mainland China and Taiwan. For fans, the stars’ candid updates — from album timelines to personal anecdotes — offered rare insight into the lives behind the stage personas, hinting at new music, reunions and family milestones in the months ahead.
