The Asian Academy Creative Awards (AACA) unveiled its list of winners for the Asia-Pacific region on Sept. 30, with Hong Kong broadcasters TVB and ViuTV collecting multiple honors and several Taiwanese productions also receiving top prizes. The regional winners will go on to compete for overall category awards, which will be presented Dec. 3 in Singapore.
The AACA recognizes excellence in television and streaming content across Asia. This year’s regional winners showcase the breadth of programming from drama series to documentaries.
Hong Kong Winners
TVB was the biggest winner in Hong Kong, capturing 13 of the territory’s 25 awards. According to a related report, the network’s acting talent was well represented, with stars including Sheh Si Nga (佘詩曼) and Chen Wai (陳煒) winning Best Actress and Best Supporting Actress.
ViuTV also made a strong showing, particularly in drama. Actor Wong Ho-yin won Best Actor for his leading role in “Turnaround Second Half” (翻盤下半場). The drama “The Wine Keeper” (存酒人) was named Best Drama, and its actor Lokman (楊樂文) earned Best Supporting Actor for his character Adam. In the factual category, “Dai Loong Fung” (大龍鳳), directed by Chan Hoi-pan and hosted by Lee Siu-han, won Best Documentary Series. Viu’s original drama “The Season” took home Best Original Streaming Program and Best Script.
Another Hong Kong broadcaster, HOY TV, received the award for Best Music/Dance Program for “Years Like Songs” (歲月如歌).
