MIRROR, the 12-member Cantopop group, has announced an eight-concert series at the AsiaWorld-Expo from December 11 to 13, 15 to 18, and 20, coinciding with the release of their new single “Fight Club.” The track, produced by veteran musician Carl Wong with lyrics by Leung Pak Kin, ventures into rock territory and encourages breaking free from conventions and personal ego.
The recording process focused on vocal exploration. Leader Lokman said Wong urged them to be more unconstrained. “After one take, he called it ‘punk’ and said we had discovered new sounds,” he said. Anson Lo admitted initial confusion but embraced the new style, saying it was a voice he had never used. Edan noted that Wong guided them through various interpretations, each time demanding more grit. Ian added that the hardened vocals perfectly matched the song’s combative nature.
Alton described the intense studio atmosphere: “I stood at the microphone with Carl behind the glass, pushing me to be more passionate. The final convergence of all 12 voices was perfect.” Stanley enjoyed the energetic demands, which he felt unlocked his potential. Jeremy described the playback as magical and full of fire, offering fans a new attitude.
The music video involved martial arts, filmed at an abandoned market and container yard. The group underwent a day of intensive training, with choreography learned on the spot. AK noted that dance backgrounds made the process smoother, with most scenes completed after few attempts. Jer performed a demanding one-versus-ten scene, drawing on boxing inspiration. He noted that his complete focus and energy addressed any prior concerns about his expressions. Anson Lo expressed worry about injuring stunt partners but praised their professionalism. Weather disruptions forced some scenes indoors, with several captured in a single take. Frankie regretted the loss of outdoor shots but appreciated the team’s adaptability, even offering to do more action scenes. Tiger said the rain enhanced concentration, allowing them to deliver explosive performances in single takes.
