Singer-songwriter and 2019 Miss Hong Kong runner-up announces engagement to music executive Cheung Tsz-fung
HONG KONG — Former Miss Hong Kong runner-up Wang Fei and singer-songwriter Cheung Tsz-fung announced their engagement Thursday, sharing romantic photos of a sunset proposal staged on a flower-covered boat in the middle of a lake.
The couple, who have been dating for four years, posted synchronized messages on social media confirming the news. Cheung, who is also the son of a record label owner, arranged the elaborate proposal at a European-style white building beside a lake, with the sun setting behind them.
Wang, 27, who won first runner-up and the Miss Photogenic title in the 2019 Miss Hong Kong pageant, wore an elegant cream-colored halter-neck mini dress. Cheung, a singer and music producer, dressed in a light gray-blue suit jacket over a white top.
The proposal featured a small boat decorated with white flowers that carried the couple to the center of the lake. There, Cheung knelt on one knee and presented a ring while friends and family on shore held up large silver balloons spelling “MARRY ME” alongside red heart-shaped balloons.
After she accepted, the couple posed for photos both on the boat and by the shoreline. Wang was seen holding a large bouquet of red roses while displaying a sparkling diamond ring on her ring finger. Close-up shots highlighted the round-cut center diamond against the rose backdrop.
Cheung was photographed embracing Wang and kissing her forehead as both smiled widely.
‘I said Yes’
Wang posted images with the caption “I said Yes” and shared an emotional message about their relationship.
“Remember when we first met, I told you that you always love having a sense of ritual. Indeed, when it came to the proposal, you continued to uphold that ritual. But this time, I like it,” she wrote in Cantonese.
She described herself as someone who easily loses interest but said Cheung keeps her attention: “Aries people are super three-minute hot – at least I am – but with you, I never get tired of every day. I just want to cling to you.”
Wang recalled a touching moment when a male friend jokingly hugged Cheung and said, “Cheung, come with me!” Cheung responded seriously: “No way. Because only when Cheung is with Wang Fei is he the best version of himself. So I can never leave her.”
“I think I will never meet someone again whom I love so much and who loves me so much,” Wang wrote. “When everyone around me says, ‘This person is really good,’ I want to say, ‘Yes, I know. So I made the right choice.’ Future life – nice working with you.”
‘An angel sent from heaven’
Cheung shared his own reflections, saying he once felt lost in life.
“Your arrival made me realize that life can be lived happily and blissfully. At one point, I knew this was the person I want to spend my life with,” he wrote. “I think heaven must have sent an angel down to me.”
He described how he had grown accustomed to living alone but now finds it strange to sleep by himself. “I enjoy every moment of time together, finding places to explore each weekend, watching movies together – we want to watch every movie in the world together.”
Cheung added: “I used to not know where home was. Now I know: wherever you and I are, that’s home.”
The engagement marks a new chapter for the couple, who have been public about their relationship since 2021. Wang continues to pursue acting and modeling, while Cheung remains active in the Hong Kong music scene as both a performer and producer.
