Hong Kong pop group COLLAR members Shen Zhenqiao (Gao) and Wang Jiaqing (Candy) were officially introduced as ambassadors for the至尊沙田足球會 (Supreme Shatin Football Club) during a press conference Thursday, where the pair shared childhood memories of growing up in the Shatin district and hinted at future matchmaking plans for Candy.
From Shatin Streets to Stadium Roles
Both singers revealed they spent their formative years in the Shatin area, leaving “many footprints” across the neighborhood. Speaking alongside club owner Wang Zhizun, the duo acknowledged the possibility that they may have crossed paths before ever meeting as COLLAR bandmates.
Wang Jiaqing, a former track-and-field athlete who also played basketball and volleyball, joked about her lack of coordination when it comes to soccer. “I was hit in the face with a ball by my older brother as a child,” she said, explaining why she gravitates toward hand-based sports. Shen Zhenqiao admitted to her own traumatic experience—losing her balance while stepping on a ball and falling.

Shen praised Xu’s natural acting, calling it a complete departure from typical idol performances.
