TVB Stars Preview CNY Plans, Address Relationship Rumors at Series Event

Stars of the long-running popular television series “Come Home Love: Lo and Behold,” including Lau Dan, Joyce Tang, Liew Wai-yee, Kalok Chow, Nicholas Ng, and Mandy Lam, gathered Tuesday for a promotional event, offering insights into their Lunar New Year holiday plans and addressing recent high-profile relationship speculation. The central focus landed on actor Kalok Chow, who publicly clarified the status of his relationship with actress Jeannie Chan amid persistent rumors of a romance and a purported recent separation.

Chow Dismisses Long-Standing Romance Rumors

Chow, who is due to take several days off for the festivities, confirmed plans to spend time with family and visit veteran star Liza Wang, alongside gatherings with close friends like Owen Cheung and Jackson Lai. When pressed about his rumored four-year relationship with Chan—and its reported end following Chan being linked to a new acquaintance named Howie—Chow emphatically denied that any exclusive relationship ever existed.

“We are and have always been good friends. Our friendship hasn’t changed,” Chow stated, minimizing the persistent speculation as merely a product of tabloid gossip. He categorically denied rumors suggesting he had ever stayed overnight or cohabited with Chan, insisting that any outings were always group activities. Asked if he would be meeting Chan on Valentine’s Day, Chow replied sharply, “Why would I need to make plans with her? I won’t be.”

The actor further addressed the identity of Howie, noting the individual is a mutual friend of both himself and Chan. Chow deflected suggestions that Chan had introduced Howie to him, or vice versa, stressing that his interest in their private lives was limited. When questioned if he feared losing a “good girl” like Chan to a pursuer, Chow laughed, making it clear the situation had “nothing to do with me,” noting Chan likely has many admirers.

Castmates Detail Holiday Getaways and Family Time

While relationship rumors dominated Chow’s segment, his co-stars shared their practical holiday strategies. Actress Liew Wai-yee, who anticipates finishing filming ahead of the Lunar New Year break and returning to work on the fifth day of the new year, spoke about her efforts to secure travel for a planned visit. Liew intends to take her 12-year-old son to visit his 90-plus-year-old great-grandmother in their hometown.

“I’m relying on my brother to help me grab the high-speed rail tickets,” Liew explained, admitting she finds the ticket purchasing process challenging. If the tickets prove too difficult to secure, she plans to stay in Hong Kong and spend quality time with her son, including playing video games. Liew also discussed navigating her son’s transition into adolescence, noting she is now attempting to teach him responsibility by involving him in household chores. She playfully expressed hope that her active son, who prefers playing soccer with boys, might eventually be “tamed” by befriending a quiet, academically inclined schoolmate.

Fellow star Joyce Tang plans to take an earlier break for a getaway with her husband. Tang noted the trip serves as necessary compensation for her recent packed schedule of filming for the series and promoting the highly anticipated extended cut of the film A Step into the Past. Tang revealed she learned from an advertisement that the extended edition of the movie is slated for a Valentine’s Day release. “We filmed so much content, and many scenes had no dialogue, so I’m very curious to see what parts the extended cut includes,” she admitted.

Tang also expressed excitement about the upcoming album launch by co-star Louis Koo and offered to sing his classic theme song “Heaven’s Mandate is Highest” alongside him if he performs it at a potential celebration.

The cast’s revelations provide fans a timely glimpse into their personal lives just before Hong Kong enters the bustling holiday celebration period, showcasing the mix of family tradition, travel plans, and ongoing professional projects that define the lives of the popular series’ stars.
