The star-studded 2025 Fashion Night gala illuminated the Shenzhen Bay Culture Plaza last night, gathering top industry figures to celebrate excellence and vision under the theme “The Future’s Panorama.” High-profile awards were distributed, with veteran actor Bosco Wong, fresh off securing multiple major acting accolades, receiving the coveted “Annual Power Actor” award, while actress Jeannie Chan earned the “Annual Potential Actor” title, underscoring their rising influence in regional media production.
Style Meets Substance at Fashion Gala
The event, held in the tech hub of Shenzhen, set a visually striking stage aligned with its futuristic theme. Attendees, including notable figures such as Guan Xiaotong, Li Chen, Sa Dingding, Ariel Lin, Athena Chu, Duan Yihong, and Wang Qianyuan, showcased avant-garde and high-fashion looks on the red carpet. Musical highlights included a performance by industry legend Kenny Bee, who took the stage alongside his daughter, Chloe Chung.
Bosco Wong made a memorable entrance in a dramatic, black, sequined coat with an extended train, epitomizing glamorous modern style. His recognition as the “Annual Power Actor” was particularly significant, he noted, as it instantly placed immense pressure on his next endeavors.
“This reminds me that my next role, my next project, must be better than anything I have done before,” Wong stated, emphasizing the weighty responsibility that comes with the industry recognition.
Actors Reflect on Growth and Potential
Jeannie Chan, who graced the red carpet in a glittering white gown with a high slit before changing into a sophisticated blue velvet backless dress for the dinner, expressed heartfelt gratitude for her “Annual Potential Actor” award. She views the accolade as a major motivator for continuous improvement.
“Receiving this award makes me incredibly happy; it is a huge encouragement,” Chan said. “I feel I am improving year after year. I have two very different dramas airing this year, and I used all my potential to embody those diverse characters. I am truly excited for the audience to see the effort.”
In a surprising yet heartwarming turn, the “Annual Newcomer” award went jointly to Sit Ka-in (also known as Ken Hung or Ng Yip-kwan) and actress Cherry Ngan. Despite Sit Ka-in’s fifteen years in the entertainment industry, he remarked on the significance of maintaining a beginner’s mindset. The award, presented by actor Li Chen, marked Sit Ka-in’s first participation in such a major mainland fashion event.
“It felt surreal to receive a Newcomer award after so many years, especially for maintaining that original passion,” he shared. He also expressed amazement at encountering Kenny Bee, who had served as a judge during his tenure on the singing competition The Voice 2, noting the magical nature of reconnecting in their current professional capacities.
Cherry Ngan echoed this sentiment of perpetual learning, stating that on the path of an actor, she considers herself “forever a newcomer.”
“I am constantly learning,” Ngan added, noting that exposure to the evening’s artistic displays would help her “absorb more artistic nourishment” and cultivate a distinct, enduring personal style.
The event not only honored the achievements of established stars but also firmly acknowledged the emerging talent that will shape the aesthetic and narrative landscape of Greater China’s cinema and television, ensuring that the region’s style and storytelling continue to evolve dynamically.
