Model Wang Dani Celebrates Anniversary, Previews Bold New Film Role

Hong Kong model and actress Wang Dani recently shared details of a celebratory trip to Australia with her husband, artist Roland Lam. Attending a fashion brand event last night, Wang revealed the four-day excursion marked the couple’s 10th anniversary of dating and marriage, highlighting a carefully planned itinerary that included a surprise element. Lam secured tickets for them to attend the Lady Gaga concert in Sydney, a gesture Wang described as adding significant joy to the milestone vacation. While expressing sincere appreciation for her husband’s attentiveness, the actress also recounted a moment of unexpected anxiety during the trip, narrowly avoiding a security incident.

Wang, known for her role in the biopic Anita, noted the celebration was an opportunity to “publicly showcase affection” in praise of Lam’s efforts. Yet, the trip was nearly overshadowed by news of a shooting incident near a beach she thankfully did not visit. “Fortunately, I don’t enjoy sunbathing on the beach, so we avoided it. Watching the news was still quite shocking, and I received many messages of concern from friends,” she stated.

Anticipation Builds for Lunar New Year Film Role

Shifting focus to her professional career, Wang confirmed she is preparing to dive into promotional activities for her upcoming Lunar New Year film, The Night King. She will be promoting the project as her character, Coco.

When questioned about the intensity of her performance, particularly concerning any potentially explicit scenes, Wang stated that the content seen in the movie’s trailer only offers a superficial glimpse. She teased that the full feature contains many more “exciting moments and unexpected visuals.”

“It’s quite powerful; it’s the kind of film that audiences will find memorable,” she predicted.

A key topic of discussion involved whether Lam would actually watch the completed film, given the hints of challenging content. Wang explained that she maintains clear communication with her husband regarding her professional commitments. She had extensively discussed the nature of the scenes before filming commenced, ensuring he understood the boundaries of the role.

Wang emphasized Lam’s unwavering support for her artistic choices. However, she admitted uncertainty regarding his tolerance level for specific scenes in the new movie. Drawing a comparison to her previous work, she pointed out his reaction even to relatively tame content.

“In Anita, there was only a very brief, gentle kiss, and he still had to cover his eyes to avoid watching it,” she recalled. “I’m unsure if his personal standards have elevated enough to handle some of the performances in this new project.”

Wang’s candid discussion provided insight into navigating the convergence of professional demands and personal boundaries in a high-profile career, even while she looks forward to sharing her latest, potentially groundbreaking film role with audiences. The Night King is set to be a highly anticipated feature of the upcoming holiday season.
